Wow, just wow

ok, so i just watched the presidential debate, and wow. i know i'm a bit late, but let me just chime in here. first of all, congrats to mitt for his win in the debate, for a warmup he came out guns a blazin and giving it to the president with both barrels, while obama just kind of came out and chilled and took it. and smirked. that seems to be the take away everyone got from him. the smirk. romney attacked, ferocious and directed, without being rude or or disrespectful, so kudos, and he was very vibrant, which is just what he needs right now to close up the polls (which i've never trusted anyway).

queso, as i stated earlier, this was just a warmup, a time for the candidates to feel each other out, but that's no excuse for the poor show we saw from obama. the whole time he had an air of couldn't-be-bothered about him and, i must confess, in light of the great performance laid out by romney, it was a little irritating. like it wasn't worth his time to try and convince me to vote for him (i'm not anyway, but at least give me the respect a voter deserves)

so, here i'm going to kind of sum up the debate. Romney: presenting cogent arguments, responding with details, not backing down an inch. Obama: studies say... it's bush's fault. it's like listening to the first two year of his presidency all over again. you know, before he decided that he knows what's best. anyway, the whole debate kind of went on in this fashion, obama attacking with unverifiable 'facts' and romney countering point for point and then some.

my favorite part was when he talked about the clinton era prosperity. the clinton era prosperity only existed because of Regan and Bush sr policies (though mostly regan). what obama got was a mixture of clinton/bush jr policies. no, bush was not perfect, in fact he did a lot of damage to the economy, but most of the damage, economically speaking, was done by clinton.that's what just blows me away, people yell, "CLINTON ERA PROSPERITY, CLINTON ERA PROSPERITY" whithout taking the time to look and see what policies actually led to that prosperity. (here's a hint, it wasn't clintons)

if you haven't seen the debate, go watch it on youtube. the president really looks lost without his teleprompter. which then begs another question: does he keep one of those in his office to tell him what to say?
